A few questions that could help consultants or others with day jobs who are working part time on building the web side of their business might be:

1. “What is the best way to outsource the web side of our business so we can keep our clientele practice running during the day, and still have free time?”

2. “Is there a formula for figuring out when it is profitable to begin to use outsourcing?”

3. “How do you get to the point of knowing how to run the details your own web business well enough to be able to direct others effectively?”

I worked with Kevin Trudeau and his partner on an infomercial. During the break I asked them that very question. “How can you tell a good product from a bad one?” “In your experience what sells and how can you tell a winner?”

They said the biggest criteria was not what they thought was the winner or the person behind it but the general public and what they wanted.

They had often put up a product on infomercials which they were sure was going to be a ‘hot seller’ and they were wrong. It sold but sales were average.

On one occasion they put up a product which they thought had a fair chance – but felt it was not spectacular as such. Yet, this was the product that sold and sold and repeat sold and took in so much money in 18 months that it blew them away. ( I think I should resurrect it).

In other words, the general public are fickle. They decide, we can only put our best foot forward.

While I am on the subject of success here’s another great tip.

I’m married to someone pretty famous. The main ways he made it to the top in his profession was:

1. He totally ignored everyone who told him ‘buddy, this is never gonna work man.’

2. A few years ago, he totally ignored publishers and pros who told him the ‘title’ of his second book would never sell. It did and it went on to become another best seller.

3. He attributed his success primarily because he built up a huge following. He’s now famous worldwide and really famous in certain countries. ( This is not puff. It is what it is.)

4.What were the foundations to his success? It was built on dogged determination to get out there. He worked the booths and shows every weekend. He bugged the hell out of editors until they featured him and virtually paid him to go away. He did the same with radio and TV shows. He kept reading things pertaining to his career and was never to proud to ask the most ordinary or humble of men for advice. ( They were usually the smartest.)

He became a success because he relied on himself to win. Sure, he took advantage of a good support network – that was important – but he worked hard and he refused to give up. That was his key to financial and career success. Hard work and determination.

Some really good questions there. This is going to be tough to compile and pick a winner. Someone will wina 30 minute business makeover session. Keep these questions coming!

so great to see you here! Yes we did sit together at Underground. That was an amazing event in so many ways. My advice is don’t fear success. Yanik mentions in his manifesto video that you can become who you want to be. Nobody will hand it to you . The book he mentioned was by Robert Ringer. (To be or not to be intimitated? ISBN 1-59077-035-8).

That is an awesome question – how to tell a good product from a bad product and get past the hype. (I remember my Grandfather told me to look at the person making the offer and see if they represent what you want to be like)…

This is NOT a dig at Yanik. I have some of his material and I read his “stuff”. But I don’t feel remotely engaged.

I too have a large(ish) email list and reply to virtually every message that requests a reply. It’s hard to do but I feel it neccessary. Would be wonderful if I could just ignore everyone – I don’t feel that I can and I do value the relationships.
