Just One Year Ago!
Posted by James in How To, Lifestyle
I was working a complex full time job and doing Internet Marketing part time after work this time last year. I was about to travel to the U.S.A for the first time since I was 12.
I remember building a charity website for free and the domain renewal just came up to remind me. This means my charity site has been helping a charity for about one year.
A lot can change in one year
In the last few days I presented at World Internet Summit on the subject of internet marketing systems and I was sharing with the audience how different life is now compared to then. Working from home doing what you want and having far less stress and bother is awesome. Travel, fun and family time are more important I was motivated to share this point:
We tend to to overestimate what we can do in the short term and we tend to underestimate what we can do in the long term.
So if you are just starting out – you may find it tough to begin with. Set your self realistic goals. In one year from now you will be getting VERY different results if you apply yourself and do the right things! Stay with it and expect success!

James,
I had no idea you’d only quit working your full time job a year ago!
I can’t agree more with realistic goals. I also think that the need to take action is huge and a major stumbling block for many.
Nothing happens without taking action.
Congratulations on the action you took it’s seemed to work out great for you.

Hi James,
Just wanted to let you know that I was at the WIS Gold Coast and loved your talk – I finished up with three pages of scribbled notes! One thing that hit home for me was your statement that “complex problems often have simple solutions”!
Too often we all tend to over-complicate things, especially in the internet marketing world. We need to step back and look for the simple solutions rather than getting overwhelmed by the problems.
I hope that the next year is even more profitable for you, and look forward to hearing you speak again somewhere – I love to travel too!
Bye for now,
Terry

Hi James
Just like Terry Chadban (above), I was at the World Internet Summit and made just over 4 pages of notes during your presentation. I just loved the information you provided and the laid back style in which you presented it
And like Terry, I also wrote down “complex problems have simple solutions” and highlighted it! Great choice of words – so true and yet so simple! lol
I’ve been going through your website here over the past couple of days and I’m just blown away by the amount of truly valuable information you have here!
Keep up the great work! You rock!
