The easy way to do this is to poll buyers at the point of purchase. The information they tell you with an OPEN survey can often reveal stuff you may never have thought of.
Watch this video and see how I did it and also the results… you will see at least one or two very powerful traffic channels I have been developing and they may not be what you think:
Remember also to name the button something compelling and obvious.

Very smart indeed. I am doing something similar with a new product I am launching soon – but I am asking what their number one question is after they buy. That way I can be sure that I haven’t missed anything out of the product – and if necessary I can respond in person to customers with specific answers

Thanks Richard,
Another one is “why did you buy?”
This gives great stuff for your sales page.

What a great video to show this in action! The value is much more obvious when viewing real examples.
I’ve noticed that some marketers have a box when you unsubscribe from their list that asks why you’re unsubscribing. It’s always marked as ‘optional’. What are your thoughts on that? I usually feel awkward filling those out, even though I realise that feedback is valuable and can help companies improve their strategies.

Hi Lillea,
Good question. Most people put something like ‘too busy’ etc… it is rare to get something really valuable.

Thanks, James. It’s interesting that the unsubscribe comments usually aren’t useful. I can’t speak for others, but often I have ended up not filling out the box when the truth is that their e-mal marketing style is kind of annoying me even if their products are great.
Your autoresponder e-mail messages, by contrast, are good and you don’t send out so many that it’s overwhelming. I look forward to getting them! Like a treat. haha!
