Blogging To The Bank 3.0 Review

Posted by in Affiliate, How To, Traffic

Blogging to the bank 3.0 by Rob Benwell launched recently. You probably got a gazillion emails about it (but not from me and I’ll tell you why).

I find the claims on the sales page to be unbelievable. $90,480 per month earnings from just a few hours work sounds a lot after you read the actual contents of this blogging guide. The information in the guide is fair but not advanced to the level where that sum seems realistic in just a few hours. I just wonder if some of that income was from product sales of the guide rather than the techniques inside them?

What does Rob Benwell cover in Blogging To The Bank 3.0 ?

After you get past the OTO in the download cart (using a microscope for the “no thanks” link) you will find a short 58 page ebook. Inside the ebook are chapters covering the following:

- Changes in money making strategy
- 5 Blogging commandments
- Market Research and Keyphrases
- Domains and hosting
- Creating your Blog
- Optimizing your Blog
- Content Ideas
- Promotion and Backlinks
- Advanced SEO techniques
- Web 2.0 strategies
- Outsourcing
- Selling your blog

It all sound impressive but…

This is a very brief overview of “what to do” not really a step-by-step how to do guide. It would take a long time and a lot of effort to get to that level of earnings with this blogging method.

Perhaps readers should be getting more than a few paragraphs about techniques and detailed pictures or video tuition. I think the guide is a little underdone. If the target market is new to intermediate marketers, they will have trouble implementing some of the suggestions without extra instructions. more pictures and tutorials would be better.

Who needs this?

This is going to help someone who wants a routine formula to follow and treats it like a process line business. This is not the emotional or personality style of blogging, this is niche blogging. It is system that relies on volume and repeating tasks. I doubt many new people will stick it through before being distracted by the next bright shiny launch etc…

The good parts

Rob does ok with describing product selection but offers no case study or proof of results. He mentions how many keyphrases to target and how many searches per month you need and where to get keywords from.

The description of setting up the blog is ok with some pictures and using C Panel fantastico. He talks about optimization but seems to skip over the detailed setup. Too basic.

Rob mentions monetization options and they are ok but again too brief in what the articles should say or the techniques he uses to pre-sell.

Sourcing content is a biggie and he mentions his methods. They will vary from some bloggers and he missed some other methods that are available for some reason.

Traffic

A blog with no traffic is a dead blog. His traffic tips are ok. A short and oversimplified list is supplied with relevant links. The section on ‘advanced seo’ is very short. Too short.

Summary

This might help someone who wants to save a few hours digging up all the information on a quality forum like the warrior forum. It is quite a short and general guide and suited to early bloggers. A seasoned blogger will be doing more things than mentioned in this book.

The main meat in the whole package is the powerpoint slide show with the older information. The information on that slideshow covers blackhat strategies and software that no longer works. Rob used to create networks of hundreds of blogs. This is a time consuming process.

Thanks for an honest review.

As you point out, there is a lot of free info available about blogging. I’m curious how this product is already up to version 3. Has blogging changed that much since version 1? Or is this just a way to keep milking it by launching new versions? It would be interesting to see a comparison of v1 vs. v3.

Hi Chris,

Good question. I would say it has changed a lot. Things from a year or two ago were quite different.

In the older powerpoint slides from the Underground seminar (2006 I think) he was using blogger and wordpress blogs and blackhat software called VooDooBlogger to mass generate 100′s of blogs.

This is less likely to work in 2008.

The things that have really changed are SEO, Plugins, Competiton , Spytools, Landing pages etc…. He does not really mention them. Also no testing or tracking etc….

I would guess he was doing really well earlier on but the information in this guide is not going to make $90k in a few hours. That’s just BS.

Hi James, thanks for the review on BTB3, it came a bit too late for me… I signed up yesterday, hoping to get a few answers to things I don’t understand, hopefully the video upsell will be better.

I must admit the whole blogging bit is a mystery to me, what’s the basic difference from blogging and having a good content site using Xsite Pro2…I mean do you really need to have both?

I looked at the Andrew Hansen sales letter and that product looks the mutts nuts to me, but do I need both Xsite Pro and Andrew’s bit of kit?

Be good to hear from you James

Hi Rob,

(There is a guarantee period with CB)

You do not need both. I use both and they are good for different things.

For a two way communication like we are having a blog is excellent. You can interact with your audience.

Static sites (Xsitepro HTML) can be set up to be fully hands off. They do not require updates like wordpres blogs and you can have video and autoresponders to take care of automating the followup sequence for sales sites. Forms can be used for lead
generation as well.

Small maintenece free xsitepro built sites can be very profitable.

The way Rob uses blogs sounds like they are content networks linked together for traffic and pre-selling affiliate programs.

It will come down to what you want to achieve. Blogs are higher work but have very good traffic capabilites.

Andrews stuff is the easiest way to leverage a network of blogs for getting content put on your site for free (not mentioned in BTB3) and also getting links to your blog from others. This would be a great place to build backlinks for your sales site using XSP).

I use Firepow to get links to my static sales pages. I recommend you wait until you can buy it with profits then you can really get into driving more traffic by adding blogs and submitting posts to the network.

Hi James, I really appreciate your honest review on BTB3. I’ve been bombarded with emails since yesterday from marketers promoting this product.

With all due respect to Benwell, I chose to pass on this product, based mostly on my experience with BTB#2. I was pleased to see there are marketers such as yourself (albeit few and far between) that don’t jump on the IM bandwagon to promote every product under the sun.

You’ve just made yourself another fan!
Cheers!

Hi again James

As I said before, Firepow looks awesome, for a non-techie person like me how easy is it to use? There are so many components especially with the premium version.

I too am pleased that some marketers tell it as it is. When I bought BTB2 I was flabbergasted at the product. The sales letter was far better than the product itself and I swore that no matter what Rob says in the future in his sales letters I could not give him the benefit of the doubt.
Have to totally agree with Carmelita.
Another fan here for you!

Hi Rob,

I only got in there recently as part of my traffic generation projects but I am impressed. To submit content to the network of blogs as easy and is one of the great features.

To give you some background:

I had experience with Andrews other products like NMOC (Niche marketing on Crack) and NEG ( Niche empire generator). NMOC was great as was the article writing ebook.

I wrote a ‘not so’ favorable review if NEG at the time because it was great concept but a little buggy. I made a lot of blogs but had trouble working them.

Now this is different.

I have sat on the sideline with Firepow just waiting for it to get into full swing. I know a few of the mmembers in there like Jenn Dize and she loves it.

I have checked out the forum, the blog generator software and the blog content subission portal.

There are training videos and case studies in the forum.

I plan on doing a full review when I have more quality imput and results for you.

It is easy to use and you will get assistance. Andrew cares about members and he has a very ethical value system.

Hi James

Thanks for the response.

I emailed one of the testimonial people featured on the site for their view too, and although they’ve now left Firepow, they thought the system was good.

Anyway, I’ve gone ahead and signed up for Firepow through your link, so I’ll have to see how it goes.

I’ve gone for the premium membership and would be pleased to give you any honest feedback that you may want, just let me know.

All the best

Rob

Very nice review. I agree that the sales page over hypes thing. This is great material for beginners who want to save hours looking around online as long as they don’t think that a blog will make them rich over night.

Hi Dave,

I would invest $7 in this excellent guide to blogging. It has original content and has enough information for you to get started from scratch:

dear james, thanks but when i checked out the ” $7.00 ” email , it also recomends to purchace a $97.oo download ? that is more than BTTB !!

dave L

15. Dec, 2008

does the BTTB series contain all of what i need to get started for 37 dollars?

James

15. Dec, 2008

The $97 download is for mass blog installs. This is much cheaper and does fast installs like the recent $997 course that was promoted by others. You do not need this option yet. It is for experienced bloggers.

I recommend you stick with the $7 purchase as recommended and it will have a lot more value to you than blogging to the bank.

thanks again james, im 100% new at this and i am looking for a way to make an eventual living off of this if i can. i know witht the knowlege and instructions, i can do this because i am a little computer literate. I do need to see results eventually in order to keep me excited. Now, i dont expect overnight results ( which, of course, would be amazing) but enough progress to know that this can be done. now , at the moment, i work ( in the real world ) a 9-5 shitty job in a warehouse packing large trucks with people who seem like they just got out of prison. the econmy is horrible and finding work is not that simple. I can honestly afford to put in 3 days a week of solid work on blogs. with this amount of time, after some experiance of course, what kind of money can i expect to make and how fast if i put 110% effort into this???
Thanks,
Dave L.

Hi Dave,

If you put in two hours a day or a whole few days a week, and you if get the hang of this then you could have a hundred dollars a day income within a few months.

Over a year you should gain a lot of experience and build a strong traffic base.

It is a really hard one to guess but I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks again for your support to someone you dont even know, lol… Just curious, where are you from? I am in New Jersey, USA.

Dave,
have you seen or heard about this product, http://www.bloginferno.com/ (not an affiliate link).

I haven’t purchased it since I already have a blogging course that I purchased earlier before bloginferno came out. But, I do receive emails and have read the free report written by Colleen Slater (creator of BlogInferno), and from what I’ve seen, you may want to consider taking a look at this product—her writing style is clear and concise, and really considers the newbie when explaining processes. By the way, I get no compensation for recommending this.

As someone that has purchased Blogging to the Bank v. 2, I would recommend that beginners look elsewhere for a course on “intro to blogging” and perhaps Blog Inferno may be what you’re looking for since Blog Inferno includes so much more than Blogging to the Bank to get a newbie started.

Hope this helps, and best wishes to you!

P.S. are you a member of Warrior Forum? If so, I think there is still a WSO for Blog Inferno.
