I switched from Infusionsoft to Nanacast, this is why…
Posted by James in Affiliate, Conversions, How To, List Building
Due to niggles with a previous system I needed a new shoppingcart / membership site system and luckily I found Nanacast. It is totally awesome and I predict it will become extremely popular with Internet Marketers.
Paypal or Merchant
I was able to migrate my products from Clickbank and DL Guard straight away and use Paypal. If you want a merchant account you can use that if you prefer.
Easy Wizards
The wizards are super easy to use and you can create memberships and products in minutes. The step-by-step process guides you through setting up the product including custom styling, WYSIWYG affiliate message editors, affiliate details, product support, Up sells and down sells ‘launch tree’ style. Amazing. You can even choose the payment button.
Affiliate Fraud protection
The IP and cookie tracking helps prevent people buying through their own links. The other cool thing it allows is the ability to track clients through the sales funnel and credit affiliates for backend sales and even cross sales later.
Hosted sales pages
If you have only got a product or service you can have the sales page hosted there and use the Nanacast system as your sales letter / cart / delivery center. You do not need a sales letter but it will be better if you do.
Email integration
Nanacast parses (integrates) with Aweber and Get response and iContact plus MANY other auto responders. You can also have unsubscribe rules and ‘lost ‘ sales (canceled) actions for followup. Very powerful.
Nanacast Bonus
I love the software and have been documenting the ‘hacks’ and adjustments I have been making as I push more and more sales volume through the system. If you buy/bought Nanacast through my link >> Nanacast << then let me know at my support desk – I will email you a special bonus report when I release it. it includes making your blog an affiliate product. My affiliate program is in the footer if you want to give it a run.
(cart test is now closed)
(When I was testing the new system out I had a download. The test has finished).

it dropped out before the product was available, went through opt in page, skipped the upsell, then got an error
24. Jul, 2009
Thanks Kat, Resolving this now. I was very close to having true one click upsells
Almos there.
24. Jul, 2009
wow these guys are fast – all resolved already!! very pleased
24. Jul, 2009
I saw everything, James. Got the upsell to the coaching, declined and went straight to the download page. Then, I got 6 emails total (whew). 2 from SuperFastBusiness, 2 from Aweber for confirm…and 2 welcome from Aweber.
If I may ask, what killed InfusionSoft for you? I’ve been working with a client on it and it’s extremely powerful. One click upsells definitely work there with a merchant account. Let me know…I’m always looking for better solutions.

@Jesus,
Hi mate.
Yes I am getting used to the setup up email sequences.
Glad the upsell / downsell worked for you . I will be fleshing them out with sales copy etc… (Just added some).
I can probably kill the welcome emails to start with – good suggestion.
What kileed it for me for Infusionsoft?
1) it did not solve my problem for payment integration (Non US )
2) It has no membership area
3) ALL of my merchants are migrating away from it because the affiliate reporting is not up to scratch.
Note, INCLUDING Infusionsoft THEMSELVES moving to CJ last week! (From their own system).
plus The service SUCKS.
4) When I set up the application it broke and it took them weeks to fix it.
5) They never called for the scheduled introduction service
6) They are hardly reachable during my timezone (other companies have support for overseas countries)
7) They never replied to a survey I filled out where I expressed my concerns in no uncertain terms.
9) many service providers are too busy fixing other ‘confusionsoft’ nightmares that they can’t keep to scheduled appointments.
10) I was quoted $10k plus by certified Infusionsoft helpers to make the thing work
11) It is complicated to setup
12) there were bugs that didn’t not get fixed.
13) the customer support girl communicates with you like a one eyed cheerleader
14) The management don’t give a crap after they get the sale. The real customer service guy (Joe) is nice but powerless to act upon his own feelings…
Don’t even get me started on the rest…..
They suck IMHO
25. Jul, 2009
awesome! the affil centre rocks!
25. Jul, 2009
Things are progressing nicely with the testing, I have manged the upsell, downsell integration and also the streamlining of email parsing.
Nanacast is incredibly powerful and smashes the other solutions i tried out of the water,
And the viral nature of the automatic affiliate program is rocking.
All members become affiliates automatically. Even if they send others to a free report they can get recurring commission on upsells and sales of any other products in my system the person they refer buys!!
26. Jul, 2009
Thank you for inusionSoft info. I needed it right now. Helps me make a decision.
What is SuperFast Resuts?
26. Jul, 2009
You are welcome. Watch as I use nanacast to double my business over the next month or two
28. Jul, 2009
Funny you mention that management don’t give a crap after the sale. You’re right.
I filled out the form so that I can ‘learn more’ about their system. That was a mistake. After that, they kept calling every freakin’ day during THEIR timezone, which is when I sleep, and also emailing automated followups with subject lines “I’m giving up”. Poor, poor. No respect.
G’luck with Nanacast.

@Aurelius,
I am compiling a full blog post regarding why I do NOT recommend Infusionsoft and my infusionsoft review will expose the layers of pathetic service.
The emails I have from them will expose the farce of service they promise.
They have not replied back to me again. It is incredible. I am also getting strange emails from the infusionsoft system with errors for other peoples accounts.
I am going to make sure anyone I know hears how they happily took thousands of dollars of mine and DID NOT DELIVER.
There are many many dissatisfied clients of Infusionsoft jumping ship and there will be plenty more.
Nanacast is a dream. Within a day I was upselling, downselling viral affiliate getting etc….
I got over 300 affiliates in the first 24 hours with recurring upsell sales already and 17% downsells!!
I am blown away with it and it is everything Infusionsoft is NOT.
Look out for my big blog spray soon!

James,
Note sure if your copy is incorrect in the post is still correct, or there was a problem with the page you sent us to.
Your copy above mentions “…..If you are reading this post then it is still available”, yet going through to the page there is no ability to opt in and view/download.
Just thought I’d let you know.

It seems to work for me -
07. Aug, 2009
James,
Thanks for the follow-up.
Just tried both pages again but it in a different browser (IE). This time they showed up differently than in my Firefox.
I must have some security (or similar) script running in FF that clashed with something on the pages.
Thanks again for the reply.

I just purchased Infusion Soft but have not yet started building my list or business. Now I an wondering whether Nanacast is the better CMS choice? I see so many top marketers using Infusion Soft, with apparent success.
From you perspective, what is Nanacast able to do that Infusion Soft Can’t do?
12. Aug, 2009
Any issues between Nanacast, you payment processor, or the gateway provider?
Can you recommend a payment provider?
12. Aug, 2009
Hi David,
I have been using nanacast with paypal and it works great. It also integrates with authorize.net if you like a merchant facility.
12. Aug, 2009
David,
Nanacast is not a CRM system like Infusionsoft. You still need aweber or similar. Nanacast can deliver private protected membership site content. It also has upsells and downsells you can use straight out of the gate and easy customization of page appearance.
The system has advanced anti fraud ip checking for affiliate tracking as well as the ability to integrate with paypal from day 1.
You can also have a wordpress membership site with lock down that talks to Nanacast. Fully integrated.
13. Aug, 2009
To confirm your set up; you use an autoresponder, Wordpress platform, and Nanacast.
It really bothers me that you had so many problems with InfusionSoft. I am rethinking my whole delivery strategy. Just Infusion Soft Premium is $299 per month.
A Weber ($20), Nanacast Premium ($147), and Word Press are $167 per month.
Were your plans to initially deliver your products through Infusion Soft? I assume they had no flexibility, support etc and that’s what lead to Nanacast?
14. Aug, 2009
Looking at the Google Keyword Tool volumes, does the published number represent organic search results plus paid search results?
26. Aug, 2009
We should compare notes on Infusionsoft – as an affiliate I have been moaning about tracking and other features for a long time, and have let a few vendors know.
Are you sure you have Nanacast integrated completely?
I had access to the free content before I confirmed an email subscription.
For me the biggest negative of Nanacast is it doesn’t support Clickbank – that might seem silly due to increased costs, but the accounting is much easier.
27. Aug, 2009
@Andy I have setup Nanacast so that it parses with aweber. Yes you can have access before subscribing to the autoresponder (optional) however your details are still stored in the nanacast system already.
What I could do it have the name capture with aweber before the nanacast order if I wanted to seal it up.
The main reason I am moving all my stuff is to escape the Clickbank system. Convenient affiliate management comes at a price. You have no control over affiliates (to make them behave or to even contact them) unless you use a bolt on script. Also people in our market steal commissions and buy from themselves.
Re: INFUSIONSOFT – I have spoken with senior management there and we are working towards a solution that is useful for the future.
27. Aug, 2009
Thanks for the article, I’m considering Nanacast.com so just researching.
Looking forward to your article on this stuff.
Take care,
Nahyan

Interesting info, James. Thanks!
Looking forward to the article/update you mentioned.
Did you double your biz in the last 6 weeks with Nanacast, as you stated above?
05. Oct, 2009
Hi James
It was nice to meet you at Stompernet . This is a great post I have been seriously considering INFUSIONSOFT . They seem to have too many unfavorable reviews. Looking at Nanacast it looks too good to be true . Is that still working well for you?
I was watching Andy Jenkins Blog the other Day he mentioned Constant Contact had very good tagging . I see Nanacast is supporting it .Maybe that is an option over Aweber ?
Thanks again.
05. Oct, 2009
Thanks Allan,
I am still loving Nanacast. Tagging is a great function for an autoresponder!
Nanacast parses (and integrates with API) with most top solutions – give it a shot!
05. Oct, 2009
Are you able to set up sub affiliate id tracking for affiliates? so if they are doing ppc to help in market your products then they are able to track their ppc?
I have infusionsoft and was also wondering about their deliverability on emails…
one thing that is nice is tagging to segment the customer lists but at what cost..
I originally had 1sc and for all it’s drawbacks it was simple
05. Oct, 2009
Hi Cris,
Affiliates can insert pixels to fire on the thank you page. Infusionsoft deliverability may be pretty good however because many large list holders use them there are occasionally delays on launch days while the emails sit in a cue.
I prefer the features of nanacast over 1sc and I like aweber.
09. Oct, 2009
Hey Guys,
Chris, I just wanted to chime in and answer this question for you:
“Are you able to set up sub affiliate id tracking for affiliates?”
Yes Nanacast can do that on the fly. Create a link campaign (same place you find the pixel and third party tracking code option) add your subaffiliate’s id on the end of the url and our system will track it and show you stats on it.
You can create unlimited subaffiliate id tracking campaigns on the fly this way using one single link tracking campaign.
The reason we have this feature is because we developed it for our CPA network with runs on the same platform/technology as Nanacast.

I started out by looking at NanaCast. Right off the bat I was impressed when I emailed Josh, who answered my q’s within the hour and then inviting me to submit my q’s to his help desk, or to phone him directly. (yay! 7 brownie points for Nanacast)
But I had to do my due diligence so I checked out InfusionSoft. Immediately I was impressed and dazzled by their nice clean interface, their countless video tutorials on how to use their system, and their big features list. BUT… after taking a closer look I realized that many of those features (e.g. the “sales pipeline”, and the ability to rotate new leads to sales staff) were suited for companies with a sales force. (like InfusionSoft themselves! Obviously they built their system with the assumption that most IM’ers had companies structured like them) Also I noticed that some features that are critical to us IM’ers are either not there (e.g. 1-Click Upsell technology), or, are barely implemented. (e.g. Coupon Codes)
InfusionSoft’s monthly account plans are structured (apparently intentionally) such that I was being forced to signup for their most expensive account ($499/month). Their 299 account limits you to send only 75,000 outgoing emails per month. That means I could only email to my 72k house list about 1x per month. (for those with say a 25k list, they can only email 3x per month) Now bear in mind that any IM’er who hits their list only 1x or 3x monthly is bound to have their IM’er status stripped from them, and is subject to a good stoning or Tar & Feathering by their peers. So then, with my 72k house list I’m forced into their more expensive 499/month account, which allows me up to 200,000 outgoing emails per month. Unfortunately with that account I can only hit my list 2x per month, or maybe 3x if I reduce my list size on the third mailing. To mail more often, I’d have to PAY Infusionsoft’s additional fees per 1,000 emails sent. For most IM’ers I hang with, mailing thru InfusionSoft would cost them over $1,000 per month. Yikes. (so if you plan to grow your list, and we all do, then prepare to pay thru the nose if you mail regularly)
So I’m leaning towards using Nanacast (much lower priced btw), combined with using Aweber for emailings. Aweber has zero limitation on how many outgoing emails I can send per month.

I cannot figure out how to upload a pic so it shows here to the left.
10. Oct, 2009
… > Also I noticed that some features that are critical to
.. > us IM’ers are either not there (e.g. 1-Click Upsell
.. > technology), or, are barely implemented.
.. > (e.g. Coupon Codes)
.
I will briefly elaborate…..
.
No 1-Click Upsell:
.
Unless things have changed recently, apparently InfusionSoft does not do true 1-Click Upsell. You have to purchase a third-party software product that integrates with InfusionSoft’s API. (such as the one by MarketGenius, $700 here: http://oneclickupsell.marketgeni.us/ )
.
Coupon Codes:
.
InfusionSoft’s knowledgebase contains a question where someone asks if a coupon code can expire (become disabled) after it is used. The answer by InfusionSoft is No. (hard to believe!) In Josh Anderson’s demo videos, he goes over Nanacast’s coupon abilities, and man they rock. He states Nanacast has the most advanced and flexible coupon system available.
.
Also the Nanacast demo videos show how you can daisy-chain upsells/OTOs, to infinity. I haven’t checked whether InfusionSoft can do the same, but many other systems I’ve seen only allow one OTO.

And guess what…
Nanacast just integrated with infusionsoft crm
That means you can now add and remove your nanacast customers to your infusionsoft crm follow up campaigns automatically.
So now you can have Nanacast’s superior ecommerce automation, content management, and affiliate management solution and even use it with infusionsoft’s crm which we now fully automate.
A lot of people have been leaving infusion and coming to us… but there are some who like the infusion crm so now you can have the best of both worlds…
But for those who like other options Nanacast also is fully integrated with the following email and email/postcard crm:
Send Pepper, Office Auto Pilot, Aweber, Getresponse, Mail Chimp, iContact, Constant Contact, and Analytic approach.

James,
If I use Nanacast what other tools do I need to set up my business? I want to sell my own digital product on line and do some affiliate marketing.
27. Oct, 2009
Dave you will need a digital product.
You can setup your product in Nanacast and even use their market place to sell it if you have no website.
You might also want an autoresponder to email clients updates and make affiliate promotions.
Optional – domain name and website (like wordpress).
06. Nov, 2009
That is really interesting that you can SELL your product through Nanacast even if you don’t have a website!
Thanks for this fantastic review James!
I’m feel confident choosing Nanacast.
04. Jan, 2010
James, how you doing! Happy New Year!
I bit the bullet and migrated my business over to Nanacast. I exported all my customers from DLGuard and imported into Nanacast. Whole process took minutes to complete. I also recorded a 22 minute video comparing Nanacast to InfusionSoft from my perspective as a web developer/marketer. I’ve had tons of hands-on work with both and tried to capture the “real” InfusionSoft.
05. Jan, 2010
Jesus great to hear you found it as useful as me. I am very pleased with Nanacast. I even converted this blog into an CPA blog with affiliate upsell / downsell revenue capabilites.
I have pushed a lot of products and memberships into the system and generated quite a revenue utilizing upsells and viral affiliate memberships.
Predicting it will become more popular in 2010.
06. Jan, 2010
Whatever the issues may or may not have been with Infusionsoft in the past, those issues don’t appear to exist anymore. Some of these beefs are not related to Infusionsoft either, it’s other organizations or systems that are being tied into the business.
08. Jan, 2010
Hi James – your link to Nancast in comment above doesn’t work here on my end – just thought you’d like to know. Always enjoy your updates! Still plugging away here – would love to have your input one of these days if you have time – best,
Cary
08. Jan, 2010
Thanks – correcting now.

James,
You may recall I bought XSP2 via your WF post back in early 2009 and have been tracking your action ever since. Was pleasantly surprised to learn here that Josh is co-founder of Nanacast. I have a couple of Josh’s Audio / Video products too.
We will be launching a new Biometric ID Mgmt. product in Q2 2010 and we’ll want to have a best-of-class Affiliate Mgmt. solution and a Membership processing platform to handle what will likely be a global audience, so the link to the Nanacast feature/function set was a timely and useful find.
