3 Easy SEO Link Exploits Worth Knowing

Posted by James in Affiliate, How To, SEO, Traffic

Google kindly offers up all sorts of information when you do the right search for places to put your backlinks…

Follow or No Follow?
Note, I do not concern myself whether a blog or resource is a ‘follow’ or no follow resource. I like links from anywhere as it is always targeted to my market and also looks more natural.

Here are some great sneaky ways to get some SEO links and attention from high ranking authority sites…
sneaky

1. Comment Love
Comment luv is a popular wordpress plug-in that displays the last post from your blog when you make a comment. This provides you a nice keyword related deep anchor text link.

To locate blogs in your niche that use this plug-in use this search in Google:

“title=”CommentLuv Enabled”” KEYPHRASE

(be sure to replace the keyphrase with your target term). Once you get the results make a valuable comment on the top ranking blogs and you will get a nice juicy link back.

2. Squidoo

To locate Squidoo lenses in your niche that allow links use this search in Google:

KEYPHRASE + site:squidoo.com + “0 points”

Next click on the high ranking Squidoo lens. Go down to ‘list” and at the bottom and click on “Add To This List”. Add your website URL to the list. Make sure the description includes your keywords and vary them for each lens you add links to….

3. Youtube

To locate Youtube channels in your niche that allow comments:

“KEYPHRASE” “Channel Comments” site:youtube.com/user

Go down to comments at the bottom and make a useful comment about the channel. People will follow you back to your channel…

Important
Use this information wisely and add real value when you make comments. Spammy comments will get you nowhere fast. Let me know how you go..

Nice post as always James. Of course links will only get you so far if you don’t have good quality content to link to.

We did an experiment last month with a new site and managed to get it a PR3 in 6 weeks and pretty good traffic buy posting almost everyday and adding to over 40 social book marking sites.

I think by adding some of your techniques we could do even better.

A Guy on a forum I’m on came out with something similar a few years ago at http://www.suburbview.com/

Its absolutely fantastic for finding places to rent :) Unfortunately I don’t think it took off that much and has always just been a hobby for him rather than a business.

Actually, you made me think :) that keyword luv is good as well and you can find those blogs by just typing in this
“this blog uses keywordluv” into your search box and to narrow it down try your keyword + this blog uses keywordluv (worked for me)

Great advice.

I had been aware of the CommentLuv plugin and have taken advantage of it on a few occasions. Being new to Squidoo, I was not aware of the ability to add your link to a lens.

Keep up the good work.

Great information, this is extremely useful and is somethign that I would have to say at least 95% of people do not know exists. Comment Luv is my favorite of all these nifty tricks! Thanks for passing along this great stuff man, keep it coming buddy.

great to see these specialised searches – thanks I’m looking for anything I can do to add to my usual promo routine.

:-)

Alex

I too think that Keyword Luv is “nifty”. However, I do wish it wasn’t such a magnet for spammer as it takes me forever to weed them out from among legitimate comments.

I always get excited to find new blogs that use KeywordLuv and CommentLuv. It seems that rather than increasing in number they have been deminishing. It could be because of spamming, though.

Im a big fan of keyword explore but I also know that the data provided from any keyword research tool has its limitations, For the most part, these tools can only provide you information on what is being searched!

With the shake up at Squidoo is the search above still valid?

Great info. Here are a few more great searches to find blogs open to giving link love.

In Google, type:

“keyword luv” keyphrase
“do follow” keyphrase

And Tonie, yes the Squidoo technique does still work. There’s another search you can do on Squidoo…

comments [keyword phrase] site:squidoo.com

(without the brackets in the squidoo search.

Cheers!
