As I am putting together a product teaching people how to make money as affiliate marketers, I just conducted a detailed survey. The point of the survey is to make sure my product addresses the core concerns of my client base.
In this case I got all the data back and compiled it into the most common questions. The survey sample was large and accurate so here are the survey results:
The Top 7 Questions Affiliate Marketers Asked
1) How do I get sales without a list?
2) How do I build a responsive list of buyers?
3) How do I get sales without a powerful Blog?
4) How do I make a bonus that is attractive when the super affiliates and gurus are competiing over product launches?
5) How do I get traffic?
6) How do I manage the technical stuff?
7) Whats your biggest tip for affiliate marketers?
Rather than answer these myself I thought it would be beneficial to get another affiliate marketer on the phone and brainstorm some ideas. Jay Deiboldt is a bright marketer I met at underground seminar and I have been watching his handywork over the last year. His new product Google Slapper covers many of these topics so I thought he would be perfect to get on the line.
Here for your benefit is a 40 minute conversation between Jay Deiboldt and James Schramko discussing various aspects of affiliate marketing as we uncover some secrets and address each of the burning questions. We hope you enjoy it.

As usual James, there are few people online who truly provide valuable information and resources without expecting anything in return. You’ve done it again!
Both yourself and Jay will have helped many with this.
Yes – you could have charged – but didn’t.
And that just goes to the core of adding value and trust!
Many thanks…

I especially liked the bit about mistakes. I think we sometimes take it too personally when things don’t work out perfectly rather than just putting it down to the nature of the thing. I even walked the wrong way, albeit after a long swim, and realised that even something so simple can go wrong sometimes and even if I’d waited and really thought it through it wouldn’t have made bugger all difference since all I had to do was notice and turn around. Sure a couple of extra steps, but not worth beating myself up over… oops another long paragraph, with punctuation. Congratulations if you made it this far… according to Brian Clarke of Teaching Sells, not one of the vast majority, of even college graduates… ( you can contact me if you’d like a copy of that mp3)

A quick update to my mistakes story… I learned from that mistake and will do my best not to repeat it but the point I was trying to convey is that simple little things don’t require too much thought. There was no real loss in acting without great thought so it was okay to just act and correct later. And also that I noticed myself thinking after doing that, if only i’d thought about it more before I started walking, but that is wrong. If I head in the wrong way out of the changing rooms it won’t really matter, so it’s okay not to think to much about it. I’ve been beating myself up for these kinds of things fairly consistently for a long time and failing to distinguish that’s okay compared to catastrophic failure that’s not easily recovered.
