Commission Blueprint is a new product for affiliate marketers. It teaches affiliate marketing for clickbank products using PPC.

The focus

Topics covered by Steven Clayton and Tim Godfrey include product selection, keyword selection, tracking, review page, landing page and afiliate marketing. It recommends tools and techniques that can be used. The videos are mostly powerpoint slides with a talking head insert. There are some screen shots and spreadsheet cutaways. The deliverables in the members area are quite good.

Keyword building is essential and the concepts are sound. I use the same resources (And a few others).

The tips on finding products using CB engine and the 30/100 rule are pretty handy for people who have trouble choosing what to promote. The tips on domain names cover the difference between the SEO techniques and the landing page techniques. You do not get taught how to set them up - just what choices are important.

The marketing tactics such as telling a story are well explained. Some of the common mistakes are discussed as well. There are a few different landing page methods and the one suggested is the testimonial / social proof one. There is no mention of where you are getting the testimonial from. They mention some of the linking methods that are not permitted but they do not teach how to do it. They use personal pictures, actors and stock images for pictures and made up pen name "stories". You will need to learn copywriting to make this work well for you.

The PPC stuff in commission blueprint is standard basic advice. Tight groups with tracking and a focus on conversions over clicks. Bidding tactics are mentioned. They call tests an investment and they mention the content network as well. You will need to study PPC outside this product and get used to adwords editor.

The scaling methods are interesting for opportunity optimization. Once you know your campaign is profitable then you want to scale.

It is a pretty good overview of clickbank marketing but you will need to do a lot of testing of your own to get the hang of it. The thing to remember is you really should be using these techniques on non-clickbank products as well and outside of the adwords network using similar techniques.
